Auction News: Gents Rolex Prince Brancard Strap Watch To Go Under the Hammer
If you’ve ever fancied owning an antique Rolex, then this fabulous Rolex Prince Brancard Strap Watch could be for you. Due to go under the hammer at Elstob & Elstob auctioneers in Ripon on July 24th, this fantastic piece is very realistically priced, taking its condition into account.
The Detail: What You Need to Know
The watch has a rectangular ivory “Doctors” dial signed Rolex Prince. Firstly, the higher dial has arabic numerals and blued steel hands. Secondly, the lower dial indicates seconds and has arabic quarters and batons between. Furthermore, the rectangular flared case is 43mm by 26mm. Additionally, it has a curved profile and alternate white and yellow “Zebra” stripes.
The caseback snaps on and is internally marked R.W.C.Ltd. Moreover, it is hallmarked 18ct gold 1929. The movement is manually wound and signed Rolex Hairspring Timed 6 Positions Observatory Quality 15 Rubies. It is signed Rolex Extra Prima to the barrel. Additionally, the movement number is 73073, model number 971 and serial number 65220. Finally, it is fitted with an aftermarket brown leather strap.
The watch is currently functioning but the timekeeping has not been tested. The case back has an entwined monogram and there is an internal engraving “From Dad to Reg on his 21st Birthday 4/1/15”.
