The Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon Ceramic is a midsize watch for the modern explorer. With exceptional resistance, it benefits from a number of exclusive Ball Watch Company patented innovations. A certified chronometer, it has been tested by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) for its accuracy. To gain COSC certification, it must be accurate to -4/+6 seconds per day. Case, crown, water resistance, bracelet
Firstly, the Engineer Hydrocarbon has a midsize 36mm stainless steel case. A black ceramic uni-directional rotating bezel measures elapsed time. It is also luminous. Secondly, the black dial complements the bezel. For fantastic night visibility, 18 micro gas tubes on the hands and dial glow brightly in the dark. Amazingly, these will remain bright for up to 25 years without recharging. The dial has a plain central chapter ring with a textured chevron patterned ring surrounding it. Thirdly, an anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial. A date indicator at 3 o’clock is also a useful feature. Additionally, the heavy-duty crown is equipped with Ball’s exclusive crown protection system. Moreover, the Engineer Hydrocarbon is anti-magnetic, shock resistant and water resistant to 20 bars (200m). Finally, the stainless steel bracelet is fitted with a folding clasp.
