The Ball Engineer II Magneto S is a remarkable watch. Benefitting from Ball Watch Company’s extensive research, it is anti-magnetic to an incredible 80,000A/m. If you consider that to be considered anti-magnetic, a watch must be able to withstand a magnetic force of 4,800A/m without its accuracy being affected by more than 30 seconds per day, it is clear that the Magneto S is a mighty watch.

Mumetal shield and bezel

The Magento S has a mumetal inner structure made from an alloy of nickel, iron, copper and molybdenum. This protects the movement from magnetic fields. The inner structure has a unique diaphragm system. In order to see the movement, the magnetic shield is retracted by twisting the bezel.

Case, dial

In terms of aesthetics, the Magneto S is striking. Firstly, the ridged bezel is perhaps the most striking feature and gives the watch a functional look. The stainless steel case is 42mm in diameter and has a brushed finish. Secondly, the black dial has 15 micro gas tubes on the hands and dial which glow brightly in the dark. Green dial printing along with a white minute track, enhances the legibility of the dial even further. The hour and minute hands are sword-shaped whilst the green sweep seconds hand is straight with the Ball insignia. Thirdly, an anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial.

Chronometer Movement, Caseback, Water resistance, strap

A COSC certified chronometer, the Magneto S is equipped with a Ball automatic calibre RR1103-CSL. This is viewed through a sapphire crystal caseback. Water resistant to 10 bars (100m), the watch is also shock resistant. Finally, a black Cordura textile strap completes the look and offers maximum comfort.
