The Ball Fireman Storm Chaser DLC Glow Watch is a robust timepiece with a clear, easy to read dial. It is also a Limited Edition of only 1,999 pieces. Equipped with an automatic Swiss chronograph movement, it is a precision watch with all the practical detailing of this famous watchmaking brand.
Case, dial, hands
In terms of aesthetics, the Fireman Storm Chaser has a clean, functional look. Firstly, the black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) case is 42mm in diameter and has a tachymeter bezel. This is useful to determine speed based on time travelled over a fixed distance which is essential for storm chasers. Secondly, the black dial has 66 micro gas tubes on the hands and dial which will glow brightly in the dark for up to 25 years without recharging. A white minute track and red detailing enhance the legibility of the dial even further. The hour and minute hands are straight with pointed tips for precision. The sweep seconds hand is also straight with the Ball insignia at the centre. Thirdly, an anti-reflective convex sapphire crystal protects the dial.
Water resistance, bracelet
Water resistant to 10 bars (100m), the Fireman Storm Chaser is anti-magnetic and shock resistant. A day/date window at 3 o’clock is also a useful feature. Finally, the strap is in black textured rubber with a pin buckle.
