BULOVA – A-15 Pilot Automatic Watch 96A245

The Bulova A-15 Pilot Automatic Watch is inspired by the 1944 Military Issue A-15 “Elapsed Time Watch”. Incorporating unique features from the original, the new version has a Miyota 82S6 automatic movement. With a 42 hour power reserve it is accurate to -20/+40 seconds per day. Consequently, it will require minor adjustment every few days.

The stainless steel case is 42mm in diameter and 14mm thick. Therefore it has quite a presence on the wrist. The domed sapphire crystal accounts for some of the height and has an anti-reflective coating to reduce glare.

The distinctive black dial features two rotating inner discs operated by two crowns. The 2 o’clock crown rotates elapsed time in minutes whilst the 4 o’clock crown rotates an hour ring which shows dual time. Cathedral style hands are true to the original and give the watch a vintage look. Both the hands and numerals glow a pale blue colour at night. Finally, a vintage leather style strap completes the look.

The Bulova A-15 Pilot Automatic Watch looks as good today as it did in 1944. Easy to read and with a dependable movement, this watch is perfect for military watch fans everywhere.
