Lunar Pilot Chronograph

Bulova’s modern interpretation of the watch has a high-performance quartz movement. With a frequency of 262 kHz, it operates at a higher frequency than most quartz or mechanical movements. This results in increased precision.

Case & Dial

With a 45mm stainless steel case, the Bulova Lunar Pilot Chronograph is a sizeable watch. However, with gently curving case contouring, it is comfortable to wear. Additionally, the chronograph pushers are shaped to follow the shape of the case. This is true to the original watch and is a nice detail. Finally, the caseback has engraving which commemorates the Apollo 15 mission. The black dial is multi-level which adds depth. There is a tachymetre scale around the outside edge which is stepped up from the centre of the dial. In keeping with the original, the Bulova logo is the version from the 70’s.

Strap

The Bulova Lunar Pilot Chronograph is fitted with a black leather strap with a texture that looks like carbon fibre. However, the watch is also supplied with an additional strap in black nylon. This has a nubuck leather patch that commemorates the date of the mission to the moon: 08021971.

Bulova and Apollo 15
