Citizen Promaster Diver Automatic Blue Dial Watch

The Citizen Promaster Diver Automatic Blue Dial Watch draws on the history of the iconic Promaster. Originally used by the Italian Navy, 1989 saw its release for a new generation of dive enthusiasts. The new Promaster Automatic is equipped with all the features you’d expect from an ISO compliant diving watch.

Case, Blue Dial, Crown

Firstly, made from black ion-plated stainless steel, the 3-part, 44mm case has a distinctive serrated bezel. Inspired by a fugu (the Japanese name for pufferfish), the black rotating bezel is easy to grip. Similarly, the oversized crown is also designed for ease of use. Located at 8 o’clock for comfort reasons, it has a cross-hatched pattern to prevent slipping.

Secondly, the blue sunray dial has a white minute track around the outer edge (view green dial version here). Additionally, the hands and indices are luminous for improved visibility. Also, the centre seconds hand has a red arrow-shaped tip to make it easy to see at a glance. Similarly, the minute hand is also outlined in red. Furthermore, a day/date indicator at 3 o’clock is a useful feature.

Strap, Water Resistance, Movement

A black polyurethane strap with heavy-duty pin buckle secures the Promaster Diver Automatic to the wrist. Moreover, an accordion section on either side of the case allows the strap to fit over a dive suit. Also, it allows for expansion of the diver’s wrist when diving. Additionally, water resistant to 20 bars (200m), the Promaster has a screwed caseback with pufferfish engraving.

Equipped with an automatic movement, the Citizen Promaster Diver Automatic Blue Dial Watch has a 42 hour power reserve.
