The Citizen Promaster Diver Automatic Super Titanium Watch is an iconic watch reimagined for 2022. Inspired by the 1977 Challenge Diver, there’s an interesting story behind the original. Found washed up on the shore of Long Reef Beach in Australia in 1983, a Challenge Diver was found covered in barnacles. Despite being submerged in the Pacific Ocean for some time, the movement inside was still ticking, protected from the seawater by its strong case. The new Promaster Diver Automatic pays homage to the original.
Super Titanium™ Case, Dial
Firstly, made from Super Titanium™ (titanium with Citizen’s own Duratect coating for increased resistance), the watch is both light-weight and durable. Five times harder than stainless steel, it is the perfect material for a diver’s watch. Secondly, the 41mm case has a blue uni-directional elapsed time bezel. Similarly, the dial is also blue with a white minute track around the outer edge (view black dial version here). Additionally, the lume-filled hands and indices allow for visibility in poor light. Also, the second hand has a lollipop-shaped tip. Furthermore, a date indicator at 3 o’clock is a useful feature. A sapphire crystal with a flat-cut top protects the dial. Moreover, bevelled edges add a retro look.
Bracelet, Water Resistance, Movement
The Super Titanium™ bracelet is smart and durable in a matt finish. Moreover, a folding safety clasp with push buttons secures it to the wrist. Finally, water resistant to 20 bars (200m), the watch has a screwed caseback.
Equipped with an automatic movement, the Promaster Diver Automatic is accurate to an average of -10 to +20 seconds. Also, it has a 42 hour power reserve. Covered by a fantastic Five Year Warranty, this is the ideal watch to accompany you on your next diving adventure.
