The Citizen Series 8 Automatic GMT 880 with Blue and Black Case is part of a new collection which seeks to redefine the power of a sport watch. First launched in Japan in 2008, Citizen has re-launched Series 8 for a global audience. Citizen describes it as “a mechanical watch for the way we live now”. Series 8, 880 Case & Blue Dial
Firstly, the 41mm case is in two tone black and blue stainless steel with a brushed finish. Secondly, the blue Mother-of-Pearl dial features bold indexes and chunky hands (view black dial version here). Furthermore, the hands and hour markers are coated in lume for improved visibility in poor light. Additionally, a GMT hand indicates a second time zone on the bi-directional blue and black bezel. Furthermore, a date indicator at 3 o’clock is a useful feature.
Movement
The Series 8 is equipped with an automatic calibre with enhanced magnetic resistance to protect the movement against external magnetic fields. Also, it has a 50 hour power reserve and water resistance to 10 bar (100m). Finally, a two tone black and blue tone stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp secures the Citizen Series 8 880 Automatic to the wrist.

After purchasing a used SAR rescue timer, I required the additional rubber strap and matching clasp.
