The Citizen Series 8 Automatic 890 with Blue Dial joins the reimagined Series 8 collection. First launched in Japan in 2008, Citizen has re-launched Series 8 for a global audience. Citizen describes it as “a mechanical watch for the way we live now”. The series combines strong, elegant design with practical features. Series 8, 890 Case & Blue Dial
Firstly, the 42.6mm octagonal case is in stainless steel with brushed and mirror finishes. Secondly, the textured blue dial has bold indexes and chunky hands (view black dial version here). Furthermore, the lume-coated hands and hour markers allow for improved visibility in poor light. Additionally, the internal bi-directional dive bezel is both captivating and practical. A double set of crowns enable adjustment of the time and bezel. Also, a date indicator at 3 o’clock is a useful feature.
Movement
An automatic calibre equips the Series 8. With enhanced magnetic resistance, the movement is protected against external magnetic fields. Also, it has a 42 hour power reserve and water resistance to 20 bar (200m). Finally, a tapered stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp secures the Series 8 to the wrist.
