The Junghans Meister Classic Automatic Watch is descended from the first Meister (Master) watches. Created by the company in the 1930’s, the collection had its heyday in the 1950’s and 60’s. Throughout this time numerous calibres were developed by Junghans. However, only the most sophisticated were fitted to the Meister watches. Consequently, the Meister watches of today are a homage to the design and technical achievements of the original Meister collection.
Meister Classic
Firstly, housed within the 38.4mm rose gold PVD coated stainless steel case is a reliable J820.4 self-winding movement. Secondly, with a 42 hour power reserve, the movement can be easily viewed through the glass exhibition screwed caseback. Moreover, the movement equips the watch with hour, minute and seconds functions. Additionally, a date display at 3 o’clock is also a useful addition.
The glass is a convex, hard plexiglass which has been coated with Sicralan to enhance scratch resistance. Underneath, the dial is in a dark grey brushed sunray finish with applied indexes at 12, 3, 6 and 9 and printed hour markers at the remaining positions. Additionally, the gold PVD coated stainless steel hour and minute hands are coated with an environmentally friendly luminous substance to ensure maximum legibility. Finally, the Meister Classic is completed with a black horse leather strap with gold PVD coated stainless steel pin buckle.
