Junghans can justifiably call their collection Meister (Master) as it has “retained its form and fascination over the decades”. The mechanical watches of the Meister collection were first produced in the 1930’s, with their heyday in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Numerous calibres were developed by Junghans during this time but only the most sophisticated were fitted to the Meister watches. The Meister watches of today are a homage to the design and technical achievements of the original Meister collection.
Meister Chronoscope
Housed within the 40.7mm stainless steel case is a reliable J880.1 self-winding movement. With an impressive 48 hour power reserve, the automatic movement can be easily viewed through the glass exhibition screwed caseback. The movement equips the watch with stop function, hour, minute and seconds functions. Sub dials display seconds, a 30 minute counter and a 12 hour counter.
The glass is a convex, hard plexiglass which has been coated with Sicralan to enhance scratch resistance. Underneath, the dial is in a brushed sunray blue finish with applied indexes at 12, 3, 6 and 9 and printed hour markers at the remaining positions. The stainless steel hands are coated with an environmentally friendly luminous substance to ensure maximum legibility in poor light conditions.
Finally, the Meister Chronoscope is completed with a polished stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp.
