Junghans – Meister Driver Day Date Watch 027/4722.45

Junghans pays homage to the early days of the motoring era with this distinctive Meister Driver Automatic Day Date. The German label describes this as “a time of great technological pioneers”. The dial is reminiscent of the speedometer of a classic car in elegant charcoal grey, but with all the technological know-how of this uncompromising watchmaking brand. The Day Date model has been inspired by the dashboard display of total and daily kilometres with the day and date displays are in the form of rotating columns. The colour scheme of the timepiece is also inspired by the tachometers of the 1930’s.

Housed within the 40.4mm stainless steel case is a reliable J800.4 self-winding movement. With a 38 hour power reserve, the automatic movement can be easily viewed through the glass exhibition screwed caseback. The movement equips the watch with hour, minute and seconds functions as well as a day window at 12 o’clock and a date aperture at 6 o’clock.

The glass is a convex, hard plexiglass which has been coated with Sicralan to enhance scratch resistance. Underneath, the dial is in a grey lacquered finish with bold, white arabic minute markers. The steel hands are coated with an environmentally friendly luminous substance to ensure maximum legibility in poor light conditions.

Finally, the Meister Driver Day Date is completed with a beautifully finished stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp.
