In motor racing, success is dependent upon the speed attained in each lap of a race, and the time required for its completion. Junghans have created the Meister Telemeter to epitomize the spirit of motor racing in every detail. The watch is based on a classical chronograph from 1951 which enabled time to be precisely measured with its stop function. Additionally, the tachymeter and telemeter scale provide a reading of the established speed and the distance which has been covered.

Junghans was proud to be announced as the Official Timekeeper of the 47th AvD-Oldtimer-Grand Prix 2019 with the Meister Telemeter, from the 9th to the 11th August at the Nürburgring – the longest racing circuit in the world, known for its legendary “North Loop” described by driver Jackie Stewart as “The Green Hell”.

The finer details

Housed within the stainless steel case is the outstanding J800.3 automatic movement powering the hour, minute and seconds hands as well as two subsidiary dials to also display seconds and a 30 minute counter. With an incredible 42 hour power reserve, the self-winding movement can be easily viewed through the glass exhibition screwed caseback.

The glass is a convex, hard plexiglass which has been coated to enhance scratch resistance. Underneath, the matt silver dial is printed with an environmentally friendly luminous substance to ensure maximum legibility in poor light conditions. The hands are also coated in the same luminous material. The dial features a tachymeter scale to measure distance over time and a telemeter.

Finally, the watch steel case is complemented by a beautifully finished stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp.
