The MeisterSinger Mechanical Edition 366 is a special Limited Edition of only 100 pieces.

2020 is a year that no one will ever forget. However, it may have passed many of us by that it was in fact a Leap Year. Therefore, the Edition 366 takes its name from the number of days in a Leap Year – 366 instead of 365.

Leap Days

Leap days were introduced in ancient times to compensate for the fact that the solar year is longer than 365 days. But it was not until the early modern era that the Gregorian calendar made this phenomenon really manageable: with 97 leap days in 400 years.

18th Century Design Inspiration

The Edition 366 looks in many ways like a museum piece. Indeed, the first portable timepieces were initially created with one hand. Their most elegant successors were the French pocket watches of the 18th and early 19th century.

The Edition 366 follows the brand’s design principle of disinterest in the inconsequential passing of time in seconds. The belief is that focusing on the larger time markers allows the wearer to live in the moment and not to be distracted by smaller details.

Case & Dial

Firstly, the Edition 366 has a 43mm stainless steel case. Secondly, with a white opaline dial, the typography is a delicate script. Furthermore, the minute scale is subdivided – with full and quarter hours marked in red and half hours in blue. This makes it easy to keep track of the time and does not make the watch look colourful. Additionally, the trademark single hand is in black and fitted with counterweights. Finally, a brown crocodile-grain leather strap adds the finishing touch.

Mechanical Movement Edition 366

The MeisterSinger Mechanical Edition 366 is equipped with a Unitas 6498-1 Swiss hand-wound movement. Originally developed for pocket watches, its large balance wheel oscillates slowly but precisely at 2.5 hz. The Edition 366 is also water resistant to 5 bars (50m).
