The MeisterSinger Neo Plus Pointer Date follows the brand’s design principle of disinterest in the inconsequential passing of time in seconds. The belief is that focusing on the larger time markers allows the wearer to live in the moment and not to be distracted by smaller, unimportant details. Consequently, this watch provides an overview of both the weekly and the monthly course of events, just like the open date rings on the Perigraph or the Pangaea Day Date.
The Neo Pointer Date is a variation on the classical rule that the hand for indicating the longer periods of time, in this case the full days, is the shortest. The date circle is somewhat recessed. Also, it is located tightly around the centre of the dial, clearly different from the minute scale and the hour numerals. Furthermore, its typography and the small, needle-like hand are highly typical of MeisterSinger.
Case & Dial
Firstly, the Neo Plus has a 40mm stainless steel case. With minimal bezel, the case has a large dial opening which gives it a contemporary feel. Secondly, the typography on the dial is functional. With printing in white, it contrasts well with the blue sunray dial. Designed to be ultra clear, it’s gauge-like appearance makes it possible to read at a glance. Additionally, the trademark single hand is in white. Moreover, the date ring and has red detailing which adds a further colourful element and complements the red date pointer hand. Finally, a stainless steel milanese bracelet adds the finishing touch.
Neo Pointer Date: Movement
The MeisterSinger Neo Plus Pointer Date Watch is equipped with a dependable Sellita SW221 automatic movement. With 25 jewels, it has a 38 hour power reserve. The Neo Pointer Date is also water resistant to 3 bars (30m).
