The Mondaine Evo2 Big Date Watch has the iconic, minimalist dial which has made the design a cult classic. However, the original design has evolved into a collection with more fluid lines and rounded surfaces.
In 1944, Swiss engineer Hans Hilfiker in 1944 designed the Official Swiss Railways Clock on behalf of the Federal Swiss Railways. Mondaine was inspired by the blueprint of the original patented design and in 1986 turned the design for the clock into a collection of watches. This was with official license from the Federal Swiss Railways.
This Mondaine Evo2 Big Date Watch has all the timeless Bauhaus style of the Classic Official Swiss Railways Watch. Additionally, it has a Big Date function. Also, for maximum comfort, the 40mm brushed case is in a seamless, rounded shape. Furthermore, the elegant stainless steel milanese mesh bracelet is adjustable. Moreover, the dial is in classic white with black indexes and is legible and easy to read. Finally, equally suited to a man or a woman’s wrist, this classic style looks good on everyone.
The Mondaine collection has such a strong identity that it has long been considered as one of the “10 Classic Swiss Watch Designs”, scooping design awards and achieving cult watch status.
