With its ultra-flat 6.2mm case, the Mondaine Simply Elegant Watch certainly lives up to its name. The collection takes its iconic design from the Official Swiss Railways Clock.
In 1944, Swiss engineer Hans Hilfiker in 1944 designed the Official Swiss Railways Clock on behalf of the Federal Swiss Railways. Mondaine was inspired by the blueprint of the original patented design and in 1986 turned the design for the clock into a collection of watches. This was with official license from the Federal Swiss Railways.
This Mondaine Simply Elegant Watch has a 41mm stainless steel case with a sleek black leather strap. The dial is in white with classic black hour and minute markers and a sweeping red second hand. The overall look is striking yet discreet. A unisex design, this timepiece looks great on a man and on-trend as an oversized women’s watch.
