SAR: Search and Rescue

Mühle Glashütte has been producing watches for the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service since 2002. Developed in partnership with each respective unit, the SAR Rescue Timer is an exceptionally robust watch able to meet any challenge. Since it was first developed, the SAR Rescue Timer has been in operation on the 56 rescue cruisers of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service.

Characterististics: Case and Dial

Firstly, the 42mm stainless steel case is strong and robust. Water resistant to 100 bar, the case has high compressive strength. Therefore, neither salt water nor sudden temperature changes can harm it. Secondly, a rubber bezel surrounds the dial to minimise impacts. Also, it prevents people from being injured by sharp edges during a rescue. Additionally, at 4mm thick, the anti-reflective sapphire crystal is three times thicker than a regular sapphire crystal.  Furthermore, for optimal readability at night, the dial is completely covered with Super-LumiNova. Moreover, the black hands and skeleletonised so that they do not obscure the dial. Finally, a heavy-duty rubber strap secures the watch to the wrist (view bracelet version here).

Movement

The patented woodpecker neck fine adjustment ensures the extraordinary robustness of the movement in the SAR Rescue-Timer. The movement also features a 38 hour power reserve, a stop-second and a date function.
