The Oris Big Crown 1917 Limited Edition is a faithful homage to Oris’s first pilot wristwatch. Celebrating a lifetime in flight, it is an historic watch and a charming reminder of Oris’s rich watchmaking heritage. Moreover, with a modern specification it is equal to the challenges of modern life. Limited to only 1917 individually numbered pieces, this special aviation watch has a unique story to tell.

Case, Dial, Date, Crystal

Firstly, the stainless steel case is a functional 40mm in diameter and has a polished finish. Secondly, the dial is in matt silver which along with the blued cathedral style hands, adds an authentic, elegant touch. It also has bold, arabic figures using the original cream and black typography. Along with the hands, these are luminous for legibility in poor light. Additionally, a traditional railroad minute track ensures the dial is easy to read. Finally, the sapphire crystal is domed on both sides. An anti-reflective coating on the inside reduces glare for better legibility in the cockpit.

Movement, Water Resistance, Caseback, Special Packaging, Strap

Equipped with a precision Oris 732 automatic movement, the watch has a 38 hour power reserve. In addition it is water resistant to 5 bars (50m) and has a large easy grip screw-down crown. This is oversized to allow for use when wearing gloves. Similarly, the caseback also screws-in and has special engravings. Finally, the watch is supplied in a fantastic special case with an additional leather strap. Therefore you can switch between the standard strap and military strap.
