This Seiko Presage Sharp Edged Series GMT Watch is designed for international timekeeping. Angular in style, the Sharp Edged Series celebrates the simplicity at the heart of the Japanese sense of beauty. To create objects of refinement with few elements and limited decoration has long been an aim of Japanese craftsmen. Consequently, it is this aesthetic that lies at the heart of this important series within the Presage collection.

Case, Bracelet

Firstly, being 42.2mm in diameter, the case incorporates many flat surfaces with a modern sharpness. These allow the watch to shine and sparkle from every angle. Secondly, both the case and bracelet have contrasting polished surfaces and subtle brushed hairline surfaces to create a multi-dimensional effect.

Green Dial

The green dial incorporates a Japanese Asanoha or hemp leaf pattern, familiar in Japanese culture for its use in design since the Heian period over a thousand years ago. The Asanoha leaf was traditionally used as material for fabrics. Symbolizing rapid, strong growth and thought to bring good health, it holds a special importance in Japanese culture.

Moreover, the rich texture and intricacy of the dial’s sharply-edged geometric pattern create a subtle colour gradation as they play with the light at different angles. Also, the green dial represents the traditional Japanese colour of Tokiwa, the colour of evergreen trees.

Also, multiple time zone calculations can be made at a glance using the GMT hand and black 24-hour bezel.

Movement

Equipped with an automatic calibre 6R64 movement, the watch has a power reserve of up to 45 hours. Additionally, it is also possible to manually wind it and you can feel the strong torque of the winding mechanism when you grip the crown. Furthermore, a see-through caseback allows a great view of the movement in action. Finally, the watch is water resistant to 10 bars (100m) and has an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
