Seiko Prospex Marinemaster 1968 Diver’s Reinterpretation

This stunning Seiko Prospex Marinemaster 1968 Diver’s Reinterpretation is based on the world’s first hi-beat Diver’s watch. Originally launched by Seiko in 1968, it was a revolutionary timepiece. This new reinterpretation of that model carries the name ‘Marinemaster’ from Seiko’s heritage in diving watchmaking.

Water Resistance, Dial, Case

Firstly, water resistant to 300 m/1000 ft the Marinemaster is built for saturation diving. Made for professional divers, it’s deliberately uncomplicated. This allows the quality of the movement and the streamlined case and bracelet to shine through. Secondly, with a robust structure, the rugged brushed stainless steel case is 42.6mm in diameter. Additionally, under the sapphire crystal, the black dial has a sand-like pattern and high-visibility hour markers and hands coated in Lumibrite (view white dial version here). Also there is a legible minute track at the extreme edge.

Furthermore, a black uni-directional turning bezel surrounds the dial as per ISO Diving standard. Also the screw-down crown is at the 4 o’clock position for maximum comfort on the wrist when diving.

Movement

An automatic 8L35 calibre equips the Seiko Prospex Marinemaster 1968 Diver’s Reinterpretation Watch. Moreover, it’s accurate to +15 to -10 seconds per day with a power reserve of approximately 50 hours. This is a premium professional divers watch.
