This Seiko Prospex “Monster” Black Series Watch is a Limited Edition of just 7,000 pieces. Very popular since its inception and now in its third year of limited edition release, Seiko Prospex Black Series was originally inspired by the mysterious world of night diving. The 2021 collection is a trio of Seiko’s signature designs, incorporating a ‘Monster,’ ‘Tuna,’ and ‘Samurai’ – nicknames invented by Seiko fans for their shapes and looks.
Monster
This specific watch is named the ‘Monster’ by Seiko fans – because of its strong, some might say, aggressive design. Sometimes known to polarise opinion, the Monster is a practical Diver’s watch which is certainly bold and unashamedly practical.
Case, Dial, Strap
Firstly, water resistant to 200 m/660 ft the heavy-duty 42.4mm case is in black stainless steel. Secondly, the black dial has high-visibility block-shaped hour markers and hands coated in Lumibrite. Also, a legible minute track is at the extreme edge of the dial. Additionally, a uni-directional turning bezel surrounds the dial with scalloped sections for grip at every five minute interval. Furthermore, the screw-down crown is positioned at 4 o’clock for safety when diving. Finally, the comfortable strap is in black silicone with a stainless steel pin buckle.
Equipped with an automatic 4R36 calibre movement, the Seiko Prospex Monster Black Series Watch is a must for anyone looking for a well-built, practical Diver’s watch. Arrived sooner than expected which was great but would have appreciated an email that it had been shipped. RM just sent an em that a “parcel” was being delivered but could not tell us from whom. Scam packages requiring duties and other charges are a current problem in our rural area.
