This Seiko Prospex Save The Ocean Antarctica Watch is a Special Edition inspired by the landscape of the world’s largest marine sanctuary – Antarctica.

The dial’s graduated colour and texture echo the white-blue views of the area created by light reflected on the ice, whilst the penguin footprints represent the dwindling numbers of its inhabitants.
Seiko donates proceeds from these ‘Save the Ocean’ models to sea conservation and environmental organisations.

“Tuna” Shape Case

This specific design is named the ‘Tuna’ by Seiko fans – because of its larger diameter and bold shape like a tuna tin – loved for decades since its first release in 1975. However, this Save The Ocean version is more compact, making it versatile enough to wear for activities both on land and at sea.

Case, Dial, Bracelet

Firstly, the robust stainless steel case is 43.2mm in diameter. Secondly, the unique dial has high-visibility hour markers and hands coated in Lumibrite. Consequently, it is legible and easy to read under water. Furthermore, the white silicone strap is durable and practical. Finally, a date indicator between 4 and 5 o’clock is a useful addition.

Water resistant to 200 m/660 ft, the “Tuna” Safari Edition has a screw caseback. Additionally, it has a screw-down crown which is located at 4 o’clock for safety reasons when diving. Equipped with an automatic 4R35 movement, it has a power reserve of approx. 41 hours.
