Silfra, Iceland

The Prospex ‘Silfra’ Tortoise European Limited Edition takes its inspiration from the surrounding craggy moss-covered terrains of Silfra in Iceland, between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, which continue to drift further apart each year. Silfra remains the only place in the world where divers can explore the fissure between two continents. The water is filtered through lava over the course of 100 years, making it the clearest water in the world.

Tortoise Case, Movement, Dial, Bracelet

Firstly, in the classic ‘tortoise’ design (named by fans for its comfortable wrist shape and land inspiration), this practical timepiece has a 42.4mm case. Secondly, powered by the 4R35 automatic calibre, it has a 41 hour power reserve. Also, it includes a rotating compass bezel and crown at 4 o’clock for comfort. Additionally, it has highly visible lumibrite on the dial and hands, easy to see in any light. Furthermore, the dial is green with the bezel in green and grey.

A sapphire crystal protects the dial and a date indicator between 4 and 5h is also a useful feature. Finally, a 3-link stainless steel bracelet secures the watch to the wrist. There’s also the option to swap the bracelet out for the grey nylon strap that comes with the watch.
