The Seiko Prospex Speedtimer ‘Go Large’ Solar Chronograph represents Seiko’s professional timekeeping heritage. In the 1960s, Seiko announced itself on the international sports timing stage with a whole new generation of high-precision equipment (view the Speedmaster 1969 Recreation model here). Seiko timekeeping is endorsed by international sports federations at many of the world’s leading sports events. This started with the 1964 Olympics and continues into the IAAF partnership today. This design features a larger 41.1mm case size, hence its ‘Go Large’ moniker.
Solar Movement, Features, Dial
Firstly, powered by a quartz solar movement calibre V192, the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer ‘Go Large’ Solar Chronograph is accurate to +/- 15 seconds per month. Conveniently, this watch charges from both natural and electric light. Also, with a fully charged battery, it operates seamlessly for up to 6 months. Furthermore, encased in stainless steel, the watch has a black aluminium tachymeter bezel. Moreover, it includes a 24-hour hand, a chronograph capable of measuring up to 60 minutes in 1/5-second increments, and a handy date display.
Additional features that elevate this watch include a small seconds hand, overcharge prevention function and a power reserve indicator. Also, the white dial, adorned with Lumibrite on the indexes and hands, ensures enhanced legibility.
Bracelet, Water Resistance
Protected by a curved sapphire crystal, the Speedtimer comes with a 22mm wide tapered stainless steel bracelet. It also features a secure three-fold clasp. Futhermore, the watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters (10 bar).
