This Seiko Prospex “Sumo” Island Green Chronograph is one of a trilogy of timepieces inspired by the dense verdant forest on Japan’s Iriomote Island. One of the world’s best places for diving, subtropical forests cover most of the island. The forests enrich the surrounding waters and nourish the coral reefs, said to be among the world’s biggest and most diverse.

Sumo Case Shape, Water Resistance, Island Green Dial

Affectionately christened the “Sumo” by Seiko fans because of it’s size, dimensions and the shape of the 12 o’clock marker, this is a practical watch with rugged good looks. Water resistant to 200 m/660 ft, the Seiko Prospex Sumo Green Island Chronograph has all the attributes you would expect from a professional Diver’s watch. The heavy-duty 44.5mm case is in brushed stainless steel and ergonomic in shape. The green dial has high-visibility hour markers and hands coated in Lumibrite. Three chronograph sub dials are easy to read with a 24 hour hand and chronograph up to 60 minutes in 1/5 second increments. Surrounding the dial is a uni-directional turning bezel in black to complement the chrono dials.

Solar Movement

Equipped with a solar V192 calibre movement, the Seiko Prospex “Sumo” Island Green Chronograph is powered by light and will never need a battery. Finally, it is presented in a special box with an additional green silicone strap.
