This Seiko 5 Sports Blueberry GMT SKX is a re-interpretation of the 1990s SKX sports watches. The 90s collection offered improved practicality – enhanced water resistance, strengthened crystals along with luminous hands and hour markers. These wearable, loveable values still stay strong in today’s modernised Seiko 5 Sports designs.
Case, Dial, Movement, Bracelet
Firstly, the stainless steel case of the Seiko 5 Sports Blueberry GMT SKX is 42.5mm in diameter with a 24 hour bezel in black and blue. Secondly, the blue dial has luminous indices and hands. Coated in LumiBrite they glow brighter and longer in partial light. Additionally, for practical international timekeeping, the red GMT hand means multiple time zone calculations can be made at a glance.
Also, a date indicator is a useful feature and is common to all Seiko 5 watches. Furthermore, the position of the screw-down crown at 4 o’clock is another key trait of a Seiko 5. An automatic calibre 4R34 equips the watch, and the movement can be viewed in action through the exhibition caseback. Moreover, the watch has a 41 hour power reserve. Also a stop seconds function means that it is possible to halt the movement within the watch. Finally, a stainless steel ‘beads of rice’ bracelet completes the look and a three-fold clasp with push button release secures it to the wrist.
