Bering Watches are inspired by the landscape of the Arctic. The brainchild of Danish adventurer and businessman René Kaerskov during his chance exploration to the North pole. The explorer was overcome by the vast size and uncluttered beauty of the ice spread out before him. On Kaerskov’s return, he put the idea of making watches with the same simple energy and beauty to his two Danish business partners. The two men loved the idea, and as a consequence, the Bering was born.
But why Bering? The team chose a name steeped in both timekeeping and nautical history. Capturing the spirit of adventure, back in 1728, Danish sailor Vitus Bering embarked on a voyage that took him to Alaska. This land was unknown in Europe and the straits Bering crossed were subsequently named Bering Straits to honour him. The term Bering Time is also used as one of the Alaskan time zones to mark this achievement.
Denmark has long been a country synonymous with elegant, simple design and minimalist chic. Bering design captures this spirit, whilst never losing a sense of adventure. The use of high quality materials gives every timepiece reliability but with an extra sharp edge.
Bestselling Bering collections include Ceramic – with a high shine finish, Solar and Ultra Slim. Solar timepieces gain power in any light and will last up to 6-12 months on a single charge. Scandinavian charm is written into the DNA of every Bering watch, but the Ultra Slim epitomises this philosophy. Super sleek and smart; being effortlessly stylish comes naturally with Bering Watches.
